The Bonar Scholarship
The Scholarship provided by Father Bonar is for $2500 per semester leading to $5000 per year and may be renewed for up to four years or $20,000 total. The Scholarship is open to males meeting the qualifications listed below. Application may be made by the Scout (youth) between May 1 and June 1 of the current year. Funds are sent directly to the institution to be applied to tuition.
Qualifications:
- Active in the Ohio River Valley Council for at least two years and currently registered with the Boy Scouts of America.
- Attending, or will attend in the fall, a WV or OH four-year public higher education institution
- High School GPA of 2.75 or higher through senior year
- Must successfully complete 12 credit hours per term (renewal)
- Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.75 at the college or university (renewal)
